Smoke-Free Ontario Act
The recent legislation prohibiting smoking in public places is not a municipal
by-law but a Provincial statute called the Smoke Free Ontario Act.
The Smoke Free Ontario Act (SFOA) came into effect May 31, 2006. Complete
details can be retrieved from the Region of Niagara's Website, Smoke Free
Ontario Act Section.
Niagara Falls City Council recently received an information report on the impact
of the Act on Residential Care Facilities. Smoke Free Residential Care
